Late Ali Jirde was a humanitarian man much known for his kindness to others to the end of his life. The poor and the destitute in Somaliland especcially those the red crescent helped to rehabiitate unconditionally will miss his compassion. I saw him on television two years ago when he was raising funds and building awareness for the red crescent and two things touched me in that interview: His mental acuity and determination to help others as he described the work of the center in clear modest language and 2) a tour of his brilliant center n action helping men and women, young and old who were recovering from stroke in a country that is plagued by greed and lack of compassion. Of all the things I saw there, red crescent was the one doing the most service to Somalilanders. May Allah swt reward him with Jannah for his good deeds.
